Find a licensed kennel, cattery or home boarder
Every boarding business in England needs an Animal Activities Licence from its local council. We reproduce the councils' own open-data registers in one searchable place — with the source link and retrieval date on every record, so you can always double-check with the council.

Why "licensed" matters
Under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018, anyone boarding dogs or cats commercially — kennels, catteries, home boarders and day-care — must hold a licence and is star-rated by the council after inspection. An unlicensed boarder is operating illegally, however well reviewed they are online.
